Spinal Decompression
Back and neck pain can be debilitating, interfering with your ability to work, enjoy free time, and perform the simplest of tasks. We were one of the first offices in the U.S. and the first in New Jersey to offer spinal decompression. After 20 years and over one 1,000 patients treated, with a success rate of 75%, we continue to practice this effective therapy on patients in the Ocean County area who need relief from back pain, neck pain, and sciatica.

Spinal Decompression Therapy
Spinal decompression is a non-surgical treatment, making it an excellent solution for back pain relief. Over a series of appointments, we will gently stretch your spine, allowing the proper position and spacing to be restored between your vertebrae.
The spacing is very important as back pain is often caused when your spine becomes compressed. Compression forces your discs out of position, which places pressure on the nerves in your spinal column.
Your nerves are highly sensitive, so any pressure placed on nerves is very painful. The level of your disc displacement will lead to varying levels of pain. A bulging disc, for example, is slightly protruding, causing mild discomfort, whereas a herniated disc is protruding further, placing far more pressure on your nerve root.
Age or injury can cause protrusions, which leads to compression. Aging causes degeneration to your spine and discs. Both bulging and herniated discs will cause pain not only in the back but often in your hips as well.
We offer spinal decompression therapy to patients throughout New Jersey to address the following issues:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Herniated disc
- Bulging disc
- Degenerative disc
- Slipped disc
- Ruptured disc
- Disc protrusion
- Sciatica
- Posterior facet syndrome
- Pinched nerves
In order to alleviate pain, we must restore the space between the discs so that cushioning between your vertebrae remains comfortable.
What is Spinal Decompression?
Spinal decompression uses traction to restore the formation of spine components. You simply lie down on our decompression table and relax as we proceed with treatment.
We comfortably strap your legs to the bottom of the table, and your upper body is strapped to the top. We can then safely begin your treatment. The table moves in opposing directions to provide a painless, low-level stretch to ease your spine into the desired degree of separation.
The table stretches and releases your spine, one section at a time. With each stretch, you will feel the pressure relieved.
Each appointment will apply a higher level of stretching so that your back is progressively relaxed into the proper position. Through the stretching, we painlessly open the space between the vertebrae. Your discs will get back into the correct position, alleviating pain as the disc is no longer placing pressure on the nerve root.
The stretching also restores fluid to the area, allowing it to hydrate the disc to restore proper shape. The effects work together to ease pain and return function.
Our goal is to find long-term results to alleviate your pain and increase mobility. Our spinal decompression therapy provides a non-invasive solution to back pain.
